None of the surviving actors who played the Doctor on Classic Who have been asked to take part in the 50th anniversary special. Steven Moffat has now officially stated that the programme wouldn’t be able to afford paying their salaries, since most of the 2013 budget goes to reviving William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, and John Pertwee.
